Since 2012, LAStheatre has been creating multidisciplinary science-art projects under the banner of The Enlightenment Café (EC). Through collaboration with real scientists and our unique approach to storytelling, we engage audiences with important real-world problems. We are delighted to be developing ZΩH (pronounced zoi), our fifth major EC production, focusing on biodiversity-loss and the future of our civilisation.

LAStheatre are excited to partner with four London Secondary schools this Autumn, working with up to 30 students in each school, to deliver an in-school workshop followed by an immersive theatre performance in central London for free this Autumn term.

We would like to work with schools and students interested and/or involved in the climate debate or the school strike for climate.

ZΩH (pronounced zoi) is an immersive theatre production, working with scientists and researchers within the performances, that delves into the impact of biodiversity loss on the climate. Looking at the future we want to see and the opportunities for us to contribute to it, our pre-show workshops and performances will offer opportunities for young people to find their place and voice within the climate emergency, whilst giving space to discuss the impact of the climate debate on our day-to-day.

Workshops will be taking place in October 2019 in school. These workshops are designed to give students an input into the creation of the show. Each 2-hour workshop will discuss where students stand in relation to the climate debate, their connections to it and their hopes for the future. This project has action at its heart with LAStheatre offering tangible and useful actions for young people to be involved in; making a marked positive impact on the environment.

As part of your involvement in the project, your school group will be invited to a performance of ZΩH on 14 November 2019.
